Wendy Guarisco

Founding Partner, CEO

Wendy Guarisco - Founder of Guarisco Group, LLC

Wendy Guarisco has over 30 years of experience as a communications and marketing professional. She’s worked with Fortune 500 companies, one-man shops, and everything in between. And as the founder of her media consulting firm, she knows first-hand the opportunities and challenges of small business ownership.

Wendy began her career in Atlanta with McCann-Erickson, then the world’s largest advertising agency, where she helped shape the images of such companies as Coca-Cola and Georgia Pacific. She was hired by her client Contel, then the third-largest non-Bell telephone company, and moved to Washington, DC as their Eastern Region Public Affairs Coordinator. She later spent a few years with a Northern Virginia broadcast production/direct response advertising company before moving back to Atlanta and joining CNN. She spent 12 years booking live interviews and contributing to the network’s award-winning coverage of events such as The Persian Gulf War, the OJ Simpson Trial, the Oklahoma City Bombing, the Balkan conflict, the terrorist attacks of 9/11, three presidential elections, the impeachment of President Bill Clinton, the 2000 Florida recount controversy, numerous international summits, and much more.

As a director of CNN’s Guest Booking unit, Wendy helped manage a staff of bookers in Atlanta, Washington, New York, London, and Hong Kong. They were responsible for all of the network’s live interviews throughout the day. She was involved in creating some of CNN’s groundbreaking programs, including the Emmy Award-winning CNN & Company, Burden of Proof, and television’s first interactive talk show, TalkBack Live! She served as that show’s senior editorial producer for six years.

In 2001, Wendy launched the Guarisco Group, LLC. She and her team secure major national and international media coverage for clients worldwide. Clients credit their enhanced media profile with generating greater and more positive awareness of them and their products/services and generating increased business for them.

Emilia Gledhill As co-owner of the agency, Emilia leads our news-of-the-day media relations team. She brings her considerable talents as a branding/image expert to our media training program, drawing on her experience in retail, modeling, fashion wholesale showroom management, luxury 5-star resort hospitality, film production and scripted/reality TV production.

Alex Muñoz is our COO, Business Manager, Strategic Adviser, and Secret Weapon. Alex’s 20+ years of business management experience include personally leading start-up divisions and turn-around success stories.

Alex is also the owner and principal of CSR, LLC and has been instrumental in helping clients across multiple industries navigate today’s business challenges to reach success. With over 20 years of experience in communications, Gina McKenzie is a creative, strategic, and results-driven leader who spearheads creative, innovative, multi-platform campaigns and brand initiatives targeting consumer and trade audiences. Before leaving to start her firm, Gina was VP of Public Relations for TNT, TBS, and Turner Classic Movies. She joins the Guarisco Group to oversee special projects and share her expertise in lifestyle and entertainment booking; podcast, print, and digital media placements; product PR; and live/virtual event production.

Kendra Matathia is a seasoned practitioner with over 20 years of experience in public relations, marketing, and brand advocacy with specific expertise in program conceptualization, design, and implementation. As a bilingual and bi-cultural executive, Kendra brings a deep understanding of both U.S. general and multicultural media markets. Kendra has worked with agencies from New York to Los Angeles in a variety of sectors inducing consumer packaged goods, healthcare, and technology. Kendra joins the Guarisco Group to manage key client relationships and support agency new business initiatives.
